It’s not the only weirdly realistic textures we’ve seen coming from the game, with our Minecraft aficionado Rachel being a huge fan of this near-perfect glass block. Dirt texture is still on the bottom of the grass block.
I’ll be humbly adding this to my Minecraft mods list, but it’s still a little distracting to look at. A very simple resource pack that gives grass blocks the green top texture on all sides, making hills look more realistic. Although it seems like it’ll still halt the operation, Nico has been kind enough to provide a version for “low-end” PCs. They claim it’s “better with shaders,” while others claim they’re too scared to move and spin around in the wind. Nico claims Optifine isn’t required, though if the comments on the pack are anything to follow, you may want to install it anyway. “The most satisfying thing Minecraft should add,” they said. If you want to get your PC hot, try this, since NicoRTX has loaded the texture pack to Planet Minecraft with the apt descriptor “super realistic grass make my PC blow up!” It’s a little overheated, compared to the yet bloated stone cube that the grass adorns itself. NicoRTX captured some of their work on the Minecraft subreddit, which included some screenshots of their work. Mmmmm, I’m already in the process of it being burning.
